Low Key Days

Aug 29th and 30th
Low key days, a 5km run first thing in morning followed typically by kids’ schoolwork starting early mornings followed by a quick lunch then an activity. The girls went to the Honolulu Aquarium which is in walking distance from the condo and the boys and I went to Kapiolani Park to play tennis. We joined up at the Beach later.
The girls managed to find time to hit the Alamoana Shopping mall and support the Hawaiian merchants. It was Mecca’s last day and she and Emily said goodbye and we took her to the airport. Tracie went in with her to get her settled and I circled the airport for what seemed like an eternity because they will not let you park due to “Homeland Security “terror threats. . What active political group is going to make a statement attacking the tropical island of Hawaii? Perhaps I underestimate those crazy kamikaze Japanese radicals who failed the first time (Pearl Harbor) but seeing how every tourist was likely to be Japanese, I figured we were pretty safe.
